Service Use

Use this kit when performing a transmission fluid-and-filter service or when removing the bottom pan during an applicable repair. The included nitrile gasket is intended for resealing the bottom pan on the correct transmission application.

Before installation, verify the transmission model, original filter configuration, pan shape, gasket profile, and bolt-hole pattern. Vehicle year alone is not enough to establish compatibility because GM used different transmissions and pan configurations across its vehicle lineup.

Inspect the old fluid and pan contents during service. Metal particles, excessive friction material, burnt fluid odor, or internal debris may indicate a condition requiring further transmission diagnosis. Replacing the filter and gasket does not correct internal mechanical wear, valve-body faults, solenoid concerns, or electronic transmission issues.

Refill with the manufacturer-specified automatic transmission fluid. Lubegard ATF Protectant may be used when compatible with the required ATF and used according to the product directions.
