Application Information

This kit uses the 2WD filter configuration for A4LD-family transmissions. The 4R44E, 4R55E, and 5R55E filter design is used from 1995-up and retrofits compatible A4LD 2WD transmissions back to 1989.

Service Guidance

Replace the filter, seals, and pan gasket during a fluid service or when completing a compatible repair. Inspect the pan, magnet, gasket rail, and valve-body area for damage or abnormal debris before reassembly. Refill with the manufacturer-specified automatic transmission fluid. Lubegard ATF Protectant may be used when compatible with the vehicle’s fluid requirements and according to its directions.
