This is a Superior intermediate sprag retainer spiral ring kit for Ford AOD-family automatic transmissions. This replacement retaining kit is referenced to part number K010 and is intended for transmission rebuild or repair applications requiring an updated intermediate sprag retainer retention design.

Part Function

This kit installs at the intermediate sprag retainer to reverse drum area. It replaces the original-style snap ring arrangement with a spiral retaining ring and G-Lock-style retainer configuration.

The factory-style retaining ring may loosen or come out of position in demanding applications. If the intermediate sprag retainer is not held securely in place, internal movement can contribute to roller clutch, mechanical diode, sprag, retainer, or reverse drum damage. Use this kit when the original retainer ring is damaged, missing, loose, or being upgraded during a rebuild.
