Complete 10-spring, 10-roller kit to restore the one-way overrunning clutch in Chrysler TF6 / A904 3-speed automatic transmissions. New precision springs and hardened rollers designed to meet or exceed original specifications.

WHAT THIS KIT SOLVES

The overrun clutch holds the transmission in first gear during acceleration. When its small return springs fatigue or break — extremely common on transmissions this age — rollers fall out of position and the clutch can no longer hold. Symptoms include:

• Slipping or no forward movement from a stop in Drive
• Vehicle moves normally in manual low (1) but not in Drive
• Delayed or harsh initial engagement
• Freewheeling or flare on takeoff

Replacing all springs and rollers as a matched set during teardown is standard professional practice — a single fatigued spring can cause a comeback.

FITMENT

⚠️ VERIFY BEFORE ORDERING: This kit fits the 10-roller overrun clutch design. Count the rollers in your original unit — if it contains 12 rollers, you need a different kit. This kit does not fit the A727 / TF8 TorqueFlite. Transmission identification, not vehicle model alone, determines fitment.

INSTALLATION NOTES

• Requires transmission disassembly; recommended during overhaul or clutch service
• Inspect the overrun clutch cam and race surfaces for wear or spalling before installing new springs and rollers — damaged races must be replaced
• Install rollers and springs into the cage with the springs preloading each roller against the cam ramps
• Professional installation recommended
