Transmission Compatibility

• A500 family: 40RH, 42RH, 40RE, 42RE and 44RE.

• A518 family: 46RH and 46RE.

• A618 family: 47RH and 47RE.

• Applicable gasoline-powered vehicles within the listed 1988-2003 range.

• Not compatible with 48RE transmissions or 2003 Dodge trucks with eighth VIN character C.

Included Components

• Hardened steel manual valve with converter charging in Park.

• Detent spring and ball installation aid.

• Pressure regulator valve shim, spring seat and inner spring.

• Outer pressure regulator spring.

• Boost valve bracket.

• 3-4 accumulator spring.

• Tapered orificed bushing for the 3-4 accumulator housing.

The manual valve helps reduce converter drain-back, while the hydraulic modifications support smoother shifts, improved converter clutch apply and converter fluid circulation.

Installation can be completed with the transmission remaining in the vehicle. Valve body service and modifications are required; follow the supplied instructions. Confirm transmission identification before ordering. Existing internal damage may require additional repairs.

Use the vehicle-specified transmission fluid during service. Consider a compatible Lubegard ATF supplement according to its application instructions. Transmission fluid and Lubegard supplement are sold separately.
