About This Part

This internal transmission hub support, also called a ring tower or drum support, mounts in the transmission case and supports hydraulic-feed operation for the 3-5-Reverse and 4-5-6 clutch assemblies. It is designed for the later 3-ring configuration and measures approximately 2.080 inches in overall length.

Why Replace The Ring Tower

During teardown, inspect the support journals and sealing-ring lands for scoring, wear, galling, cracks, or other damage. A worn ring tower can allow internal hydraulic leakage and may contribute to clutch-apply issues, pressure loss, harsh shifting, delayed engagement, slipping, or other rebuild-related transmission concerns.
