What This Is: The TransGo AFL-G2-TK is the required specialty tool kit needed to install TransGo GEN2 SHIFT KIT Valve Body Repair Kits in Ford and GM 6-speed front-wheel-drive automatic transmissions. The oversized replacement valves included in the GEN2 Shift Kits are intentionally larger than the worn OEM bore — this tool reams the bore to the correct diameter so the new valve can seat properly and restore full hydraulic function.

Kit Includes:

• One high-speed steel reamer (USA-made)
• Three transmission-specific guides (grooved for easy identification)
• Guide groove key: No grooves = 6T70-G2 | One groove = 6F35-G2 | Two grooves = 6T40-G2 / 6T40-G3

Why This Repair Is Needed: GEN2 Ford and GM 6-speed FWD valve bodies wear at the AFL valve bore (GM) and solenoid regulator valve bore (Ford), allowing hydraulic pressure to fall outside the designed range. The result is a range of drivability failures including erratic shifts, 2-3 cut-loose, no reverse, TCC slip, flare-up on shifts, burned clutch packs, broken internal components, and solenoid performance or gear ratio fault codes. The Shift Kit replaces the worn valve with an oversized precision unit — this tool prepares the bore to accept it.
