What This Part Does:

The low/reverse band in the Chrysler A727 Torqueflite transmission applies clamping pressure against the 6" OD rear drum to engage reverse gear and hold the transmission in first gear (low). When this band wears out or breaks, you may experience:

• Reverse gear slipping or failing to engage
• Loss of first gear / no movement from a stop
• Harsh or erratic low-gear shifting behavior
• Clunking or delayed engagement when selecting Reverse
