Fitment Verification

This is an early-style C4 washer for 1964-1969 applications. Compare the removed washer and transmission configuration before purchase, including the tab and hole arrangement, overall profile, and the mating forward drum and clutch hub components.

Later C4 and C5 transmissions can use different washer designs and reference numbers. Confirm the internal transmission parts rather than relying only on the vehicle’s model year or engine application.

Rebuild Guidance

Use these washers when rebuilding a C4 transmission or servicing the forward clutch assembly. Inspect the forward drum, clutch hub, bushings, thrust surfaces, friction plates, steels, and associated hard parts for wear before reassembly. Replace damaged or worn internal components as needed and follow the correct service manual procedures for endplay and clutch-clearance checks.

Refill the transmission with the manufacturer-specified ATF. Lubegard ATF Protectant may be used when compatible with the application and according to its directions; it does not replace required mechanical repair.
