F Clutch Piston for ZF 5HP24 5HP24A 5HP30 Transmission 0501-212-967

This bonded F clutch piston applies the F clutch in compatible ZF five-speed automatic transmissions. The F clutch is involved in Reverse application and engine braking in Manual Low. Replace it when inspection identifies piston bonding separation, cracking, sealing loss, or F clutch apply-pressure concerns.

Common Repair Indicators

• Slipping or no Reverse engagement

• Delayed or weak Reverse engagement

• Loss of engine braking in Manual Low

• F clutch piston bonding separation found during teardown

• F clutch friction or steel plate wear identified during a rebuild

Steel-backed bonded piston with an integrated sealing lip. No separate piston seal is required. Sold individually as one piston.

Fluid Service

Use the transmission manufacturer’s specified fluid when completing the repair. If adding Lubegard ATF Protectant, verify compatibility with the application and follow its product directions; it is not a replacement for worn-part repair.
